Sino-British steel ropes teach you which connection methods of steel wire ropes
2022-06-14

The steel wire rope needs to be connected with other load-bearing parts to transmit the load. The connection method and the rigging used are roughly as follows.

1. Wedge sleeve fixing method. One end of the wire rope goes around a special wedge, and the wire rope is fixed by the locking action of the wedge in the sleeve. The strength of the fixed place is about 75%-85% of the strength of the wire rope itself.

2. Conical sleeve fixing method. After the end of the wire rope passes through the tapered sleeve, the head wire is bent into a small hook and poured into the lead or zinc solution to solidify. The strength of the fixed place is roughly the same as the strength of the wire rope itself.

3. Rope card fixing method. The wire rope is placed on the heart-shaped collar and fixed with a special wire rope clip. The bottom plate of the rope clip should be fastened on the working section of the wire rope, and the U-shaped bolt should be fastened to the tail of the wire rope. The number of wire rope clips shall not be less than 3.

4, weaving method. Using the heart-shaped return, after one end of the wire rope goes around the collar, weave each strand into each working branch, insert each strand 4-5 times, and then tie it with thin steel wire, and the bundle length is 20-25 times the diameter of the steel wire. , and should not be less than 300mm. The strength of the fixed place is 75%-90% of the wire rope itself.

5. Aluminum alloy indenter method. After dismantling the end of the wire rope, it is divided into six strands, and the ends of each strand are staggered, and the longest remaining end is not more than the length of the aluminum sleeve, and the core of the rope is cut off. The lead sleeve is pressed into an oval shape on the steam hammer and then pressed into shape by pressing. This method has good processing technology, light weight and convenient installation, and is often used as a fixed cable for cranes.
